Sinekatalog’s take

A village man turns construction worker in town and marries a woman whose mother sells her body, drawing disapproval. A heavy melodrama about class and morality, showcasing its famously singing lead. Aside from the sentiment, it serves up the usual star-vehicle tropes of period melodrama.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
