Plot
Chernivtsi, an out-of-the-way city in the middle of Europe. It was once part of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy as the capital of the crown province of Bukowina.
Sinekatalog’s take
A documentary portrait of a once-grand city on the edge of Europe, a former Habsburg provincial capital. It lingers on place and memory with an unhurried, elegiac air. A fine pick for viewers interested in Central European history and its vanished cultures.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
