Sinekatalog’s take
Based on Zora Neale Hurston's novel, the story follows a spirited woman who seeks happiness through several marriages and defies her small town's expectations. It is a heartfelt, earnest adaptation with lovely period feel, though it cannot match the book's poetic voice.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
