Sinekatalog’s take
A clever captive parrot persuades a boy to open its cage in Mani Kaul's stylized, erotic folk-tale, set among palace beauties. It is more visual ritual than conventional narrative, with a slow, hypnotic rhythm. A challenge, but rewarding for fans of formalist Indian art film.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
