Plot
Unfolding over two days in 1924, the film depicts the dying Lenin, world revolutionary and father of the USSR, now powerless and isolated at his Gorki estate.
Sinekatalog’s take
Sokurov observes Lenin in his final isolated days at Gorki, powerless and decaying. It is a slow, hushed, painterly study of a body and an idea collapsing together, demanding but hypnotic for lovers of austere art cinema.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
