Plot

Before he was a protector, Kenshin was a fearsome assassin known as Battosai. But when he meets gentle Tomoe Yukishiro, a beautiful young woman who carries a huge burden in her heart, his life will change forever.

Sinekatalog’s take

The origin chapter trades the series' swagger for melancholy, showing how a killer's guilt takes shape through an unlikely tenderness. Sword fights are crisp and bloody, though the romance carries most of the weight. Franchise fans will get more from it than newcomers.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
