Plot

Labor Day in a small Kansas farm town. Hal, a burly and resolute drifter, jumps off a dusty freight train car with the purpose of visiting Alan, a former college classmate and son of the richest man in town.

Sinekatalog’s take

A small-town drama in which a drifter's arrival stirs up simmering longings at a holiday gathering. Its heat and wistfulness give the stagey material real pull, even when the dialogue feels theatrical. Good for lovers of classic Hollywood relationship drama.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
