Plot
Lost Course chronicles a grassroots democratic movement in the southern Chinese village of Wukan. The villagers protest against the corrupt local officials before ousting them and organising elections of their own.
Sinekatalog’s take
A close-up documentary account of villagers in Wukan who rise against corrupt officials and try running their own elections. It is gripping because it shows how hard democracy is once the protest ends. Strong viewing for anyone interested in grassroots politics.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
